Through a combination of inactivity and mouse cursor movement before the user becomes inactive, you are able to predict when someone is leaving the page. This way you will be able to offer relevant content before they exit, and keep them on your page.
In the image above, Evergage gives visitors a Second Chance by providing them with the chance to download the most popular resource. This is a great tactic to get in front of a visitor before they leave – grab their attention by showing them something relevant – and ultimately drive more leads from your website.
Evergage client Nomads also has a great example of how you can utilize a Second Chance message. This Second Chance message allows them to offer a visitor, who is on the verge of leaving the site, one last chance to stay on the site with a discounted offer. Incentives greatly increases the chance of the visitor buying the accommodation now, instead of risking losing the visitor to a competitor.
