Real-Time Tuesday – Keep Visitors on Your Website

June 15, 2014 by

Hello, and welcome to another week of Real-Time Tuesday! We have previously discussed topics such as – Increasing Interaction, A Retention Strategy for Semi-Engaged Visitors and more. This week we will discuss why visitors are departing from your website and how to prevent it with real-time messaging.

Lets discuss why it’s so important to understand why visitors are departing from your site. If you have a high bounce rate, this means that visitors are departing without viewing any other pages of your site. If they came to your site in the first place, they must be interested in what you have to offer. But if they bounce, there is a good chance that they can’t find what they are looking for are leaving your site to go to a competitor’s site. What is the best way to know why these visitors are leaving your site so quickly?

One great way to understand why visitors are departing from your site is to present them with a quick pop-up survey. As visitors move their cursor toward the address bar or close button, you can recognize that they are going to leave. This is the perfect time to ask your visitors about their experience or for feedback. You can then use this information to better engage future visitors, and now you will know why visitors are bouncing, and you will also know how you can improve a visitors experience.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s episode of Real-Time Tuesday. We will see you next week so you can learn more about how real-time personalization can help you!
