Hello, and welcome to another Real-Time Tuesday. Today we will be discussing a strategy for increasing conversions on your site by promoting content that the visitor has yet to click on or view. On Evergage’s own site, we wanted to make sure that each visitor understands our product completely when they come to our website. Our video does a good job explaining it. When on the homepage, each and every visitor sees a static banner that includes the intro video. After they watch this quick video, they have a better understanding of what we do and how our web personalization platform can benefit their company. But everyone won’t stop to watch the video and we want everyone to watch it, so we created a message targeted at the bottom of the homepage for those who did not watch the video.
This is the homepage banner that has the video, which is where visitors are first encouraged to watch our intro video. By understanding behaviors and clicks, Evergage is able to know immediately if a visitor has not seen the video. When someone has not seen the video and scrolls down 33% of the homepage (so the original banner with the video is no longer in sight), they will see this message below.
Each visitor will see this message two times, unless they have already seen the video, then they will not see the message again. This is a pop-up message that slides into your screen from the left side of your window. This simple and subtle message has an outstanding 27.2% click rate. This means that hundreds of visitors who wouldn’t have seen this video, are now watching the video and are learning more about Evergage.
With this message, we are promoting our own content to ensure that each visitor has the opportunity to learn more about us, without having to navigate throughout our whole site to find out. Do you want to see Evergage in action? Request a demo today!
We look forward to testing new messages on our site! We will keep you updated on our progress, testing and optimization. We hope you enjoyed Real-Time Tuesday, see you next week!
