How Real-Time Web Personalization Helps Increase Holiday Season Sales

December 9, 2014 by

Hello, and welcome to another Real-Time Tuesday. Today we will be discussing a strategy for increasing sales this holiday season with real-time web personalization to create a unique experience for each visitor on your site, by showing them content that is relevant to them. Evergage Promote automatically catalogs products and content, dynamically promoting both based on visitor behavior. For example, you can show an item based on what a visitor has viewed on their first visit, what they viewed last, what they viewed the most, or what they have spent the most time viewing.

In this example, Evergage is allowing this e-commerce website to show the product that the visitor spent the most time viewing. This way, they are reminded about the product that they are most likely interested in. This will significantly increase the chances of the visitor re-engaging with that product. You can use this strategy this holiday season and make sure the visitor is reminded of what they were most interested in.

Now that we are able to show the visitor what product they were most interested in, you can now message them in real time with an offer. In this example, the visitor will see a 10% off coupon based on their location. You are able to make this message based on location or other behavior such as how many clicks they have made and where they have clicked. When you get visitors to your site, your goal is to get them to convert. By offering them a 10% off coupon when they are on your site, in real-time, they will be encouraged to make this purchase now. If you send an email with this coupon, visitors will likely forget or not even see the coupon. This is why it is so important to present this offer when they are actually engaged on your website.

These are just two examples of how you can increase the chances of visitors converting on your site this holiday season.

We hope you enjoyed Real-Time Tuesday, see you next week!
